Thanks David and Richard soooooo much, you are both super stars. My clever
husband understood exactly what you were saying Richard, it's just me the
thicket that didn't, so the upgrade is happening as I write yay!!

Mandy,

You can use the sd card you normally use in the pocket, as long as there is
enough free space for the files. If you try copying the files and there is
insufficient space on your card, you will be advised accordingly. So, take
your card out of the Pocket, copy the files from the website to your pc,
unzip the files, copy the unzipped files to your card, replace the sd card
into your pocket, plug the pocket into the mains power, and turn on.

Sorry Richard I'm being thick, any SD card, an empty SD card, all mine are
full of books. How much space does it take, does it upgrade it on to the SD
card or the pocket itself? Sorry.

Mandy, I'm running version 4.0 something or other, but notice that there's a
version 5 out there, but don't know exactly what this does.
The following installation instructions appear on the site:

PTP1 Step 1: Download file
Download the firmware file to your computer.
Execute the .exe file or unzip the .zip file. The program creates new folder
"PlexVerUp" and copies data for firmware upgrade.
Copy the created folder to root of SD card.
Step 2:Install Firmware into PLEXTALK
In case of PTP1
Connect the PTP1 to AC power using the PTP1 power adapter.
Insert the SD card with the created folder and turn on PTP1.
The installation process will be executed automatically and takes
approximately 4 minutes.
When upgrade installation is completed, PTP1 will automatically re-boot.
Remove SD card after the firmware upgrade and delete the created folder.

Hi Richard,

Thanks so much, found the version number and it is still number 1. As I
said my husband went to the site and thought he had downloaded the file of
the latest firmware. Please could you tell us how to download and copy on
to the device, as it obviously didn't work. Much appreciated.

Subject: [access-uk] Plextalk Pocket

Hi please could someone help. I wanted to upgrade my Plextalk pocket and my
husband went on the site and downloaded a zip file. We think it's
transferred to the pocket but we don't know how to tell which version it is,
is there any way we can find out the version number. Also I downloaded the
software so that I could now download the Audible books on to the device.
So if anyone could help I'll be grateful because I think it will only work
with the later versions. Please give me an easy set of instructions!

Thanks Mandy
