Talking books are of course not in sterio, but if you put a sterio cd into the PTN1 and connect a pair of headphones or plug in a pair of PC speakers or connect it to an amplifier, you will hear thedisk in sterio. ----- Original Message ----- From: "TrueBlue & Proud" <billy72@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Ian, is this true, I've never listened to music cd's on my Plextalk as yet, but as Christine says, talking books don't sound stereo to me as such. Maybe

Talking book machines and the Plextor recorders do indeed play stereo
discs
in stereo even though they have only one speaker. Put a music CD in your
player and listen through a pair of headphones and you will hear that this
is true.

Hummm, how can you get Sterio out of a mono machine? if you add two
speakers its still Only mono because the machine is mono, true sterio
needs
Everything your useing to be sterio.

Hope you enjoy your new machine anyway, my problem is probably due to me
wearing two hearing-aids and my bad hearing so don't count on my oppinion.

Have a good weekend. Christine.
