It's 256 including the path, so if you stored in C:\ you could only
have 253 for the name.

I suspect your paths have a lot to do with why it's not cropped up
before.

What **IS** the maximum length and having used similar names in W98SE
(and,
come to think of it in Windows ME) whydid these not complain?
