If I open the folder using windows explorer which is an option, there is audio and video. The audio contains nothing and the video has 13 files. Not being a video person, the file extentions mean nothing to me. ----- Original Message ----- From: "john coley" <johncoley@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Peter, on that screen there's an option to open folder to view files. Choose that option and the files will be displayed. Highlight one of the files, press f2 and see what the file extention is. Incidentally, do you know if these are audio or video files?

Hi Peter, can windows see it, or is the problem that the files won't play. If windows can see it and you get the popup message when you insert the DVD and can open to view files what is the file extention of the files?

I received a DVD in the post this morning from a friend and can't get it to play. I tried both windows media player and real player to no effect. A friend told me to install VLc media player which is an open source program but still no joy.
