Alexander, The paper issue is one of the things that attracts me to this device, ironically. I use A5 paper to print my scuba diving logs up on, so always have a good stack of it in the house. It is only notes and short passages I envisage using it for, as I have electronic gadgets for anything large and complicated. The small size and weight of the Jot a Dot is also attractive, as the Perkins is a heavy old lump to be getting out just for a small list or note. The only drawback with the jot a dot, in my opinion at least, is the fact that it doesn't use the same size of paper as the Perkins, so it's OK if you want to make short notes or write lists, but if you wanted to write a Perkins size page of Braille on a jot a dot, I don't think that would work, as it would take up more than one page of the size of paper used for the jot a dot.
