Hi David

Sorry, probably my enthusiasm that started this thread! (grin).

I personally like the Samsung NC10 because it's so small and
lightweight, yet comfortable enough to work with on the move. It
depends what you like and what you need, but this has everything I want
for price, portability and usability.

Yes Jackie - sorry for the error!

I don't understand why there is so much enthusiasm about it - could you
enlighten me?

Hi David

It's the Samsung NC10, being shortened to NC10. Is that what you mean?

Hi all. I have just bought the NC10 and it's great. I have done the
alterations regarding screensavers and have the XP one running. The
battery is great. I have got rid of MacAfee and installed AVG. System
Access runs great on it. The lady who served ne thought I was buying it
for my wife. She

didn't think people with low vision could use netbooks. So I then
started to

tell her about screen readers and she seemed surprised to learn of
assistive

technology. It's a thankless task educating the sighted.

Hi Eleanor,
I've removed everything to do with Samsung, and the netbook is running
as
smoothly as ever, if not more so.

Hi all, for owners of the NC10, here's a few things I've done to my
NC10
and its now running much faster! All these settings are optional, if
you
like them enabled, leave them on. OK, first, look in the advanced tab
of
system settings, and disable all the visual stuff like menu
animation.
Then, set all screen savers, desktop backgrounds, themes etc to the
lowest possible settings. In other words, don't have a background, or

a screensaver. Then, uninstall McAfee, and all the Samsung rubbish
that isn't accessible anyway. Finally, set as many things as possible

to classic. Logon screen, start menu, etc, makes boot times much
faster.
