[access-uk] Re: Payment plans for access technology?

Well Steve I download an MP3 file and the systemaccesstogo. Now presumably I can listen to the MP3 file to hear what it sounds like. Can it be used on anything other than the Internet?

Hi Eleanor,

It is like any screen reader. Never have another running when you run it.

All the best

Steve

Sounds good Steve, never tried that one out. What though if I have
Supernova running when I go to look at it. *smile*.

Hi Eleanor,

Yes, pretty unstable. The best free screen reader if you have Internet in
my view, is System Access To Go, http://www.satogo.com. Just unload any
screen reader, go to the run window by pressing Windows-R and then type
www.satogo.com, and listen to your computer start talking.

All the best

Steve

I do not think I could tolerate NVDA. Only heard of it through this list
and tried it for approximately 2 minutes and never again.

Don't forget you get what you pay for. NVDA has a lot of delayed
buffering

issues and I would prefer to pay for a screen reader instead. Yes if my
hands were financially tied and non of the commercial screen readers were affordable to me then NVDA would be ok and can do a job as far as e-mails
and file management is concerned. It's too sluggish on the net.

And NVDA costs absolutely nothing and will fulfil the needs of a lot of
blind computer users.

Hi.

No, system access also offers a payment plan option, but whether its
available in the UK is a different matter. People in the UK are able
to

use the system access as a service option, where you pay a monthly fee
for system access mobile and the mobile network with no contract,
commitment or upfront cost which in my view is a really good way to
flog

a screen reader, profitable for Serotek as the customer will want to
stay subscribed for their screen access product, and beneficial to the
customer because they don't have to fork out hundreds of pounds for the
access technology they need.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Martin,

Currently, we only do it for Window-Eyes.

All the best

Hi all.

In this time of resession, or at any time really, what with the costs
of
access tec being prohibiitivly expencive for most, why are not more
companies iether resellers or at source venders making available
payment
plans? I know serotek do various plans for their system access
products,
and window eyes do their payment plans too, which I believe are
supported by
resellers in both cases, but do any others do payment plans? Sight
and
sound for knfb reader mobile or hjaws for instance? Computer room
services
for knfb reader mobile or braille displays? Thoughts?
