[access-uk] Re: Payment plans for access technology?

Yes Tony, Credit Union is the way to go. Aren't you in Southern Ireland? I am
not sure if they have Credit Unions on the UK Mainland?

  Hi All,

I'm looking at for example buyinng a print-reader soon which isn't cheap so I
will just pop down when the time comes for that splash-out to my local,
friendly low interest credit union!

Martin, as a assistive tech user, I'd agree with you but also as someone
who
runs a business there is a lot of things to consider before you could do
anything like payment plans. For smaller businesses like Steve, myself or
Graham, payment plans simply aren't possible. Don't forget, we have to buy
whatever product it is first and then sell it on. Whether or not it is
something specific to order it remains the same. Once you sell it on to a
customer and offer a payment plan you are instantly selling at a loss. A
small business simply can not afford to take the financial burden of
subsidising customers. Also, even with financial systems in place, you are
still taking a risk. Truthfully, I'm not sure any of our AT Co's can take
such a commitment on. Sight and Sound maybe or Humanware, Blazie or
Dolphin, but I guess that would be it.

    Best wishes.

    Steve
