Hi Ibrahim,

Thanks for your detailed response.

Both should get me where I need to be ... and I'll get back if I need to.

Hi Carol.

I'll try to answer both your questions for you if you'll oblige me
*grin*.
firstly, with the phone and sim problem, the sim has probably been
disconnected. You'll need to take the sim out and call the network
operator. There should be a sim number printed on the top side of
the sim, give this to them and providing your sim is still on file,
they should be able to reconnect and restore any balance depending on
the terms of the deal which I presume is pay as you go.

Secondly, O2 should be able to send the settings directly to the
phone your having problems with. Call their customer services,
provide them with the make and model and they'll send you settings by
text. If its a Nokia and a modern or at least recently modern model,
you may even be able to use the automatic settings wizard to set your
phone using preconfigured settings the phone already has for all
network operators. Go to www.nokia.co.uk and follow through the
support section, select your phone model and send settings. You'll
be instructed what to do from there.
Hope all this helps you and please feel free to get back to me if you
need specific help.

Subject: [access-uk] PHONE PROBLEMS

Hi all,

I have a couple of phone problems and hope someone can help ...

First, I have a phone with a sim which hasn't been used for ages and
it seems I have "no network coverage". I'm sure there's some money
left on the phone but can't remember its number to call it to try to
activate. (Perhaps this wouldn't work anyway.) How can I find the
number in the phone to give it a try?

Second, I was trying to send a multi-media message (picture) from my
other phone and was told an access point wasn't defined. I am on
Pay as You Go with O2! Does this mean I can't do it, or can I
define an access point that will work? If the latter, what
information do I need to enter into fields?

Thanks for any help. I am glad some of you are so knowledgeable in
these things and really help me out!
