Alex, Like many products, some are good, some are bad, and when they
are bad, they are VERY bad.
But trust me, we've set up dozens of the Maplin ones I've mentioned,
and they have been faultless.

Parallel to USB converters are not that great to be honest, they
certainly didn't work when I wanted to use one on a PowerBraille
display. I hope you have more luck with your printer.
Generally speaking, all printers now seem to come with USB, and you
can get some using Bluetooth or which network. It's been a long time
since I bought a printer, (smile).

Well, My old desktop has, at least for the moment, given up working
and I need to use my parallel printer. My laptop only has a USB
option so, can I get a converter at a reasonable price? If so, any
details would be most welcome.
In addition, if I need to go for a new printer, as I have WiFi in the
house, should I consider a WiFi or USB connection printer? It would
be good to have details, please, of any models which you really like
and are fully useable for a totally blind person.
