Hi Richard I guess it depends on the user, some will pick it up quicker than others. The Pac Mate obviously offers far more applications than the Braille Lite. If your friend can get to an exhibition, he could do the rounds and see what is available. If not, then he could always request a demo on any of the current note-takers. How easy is it to learn the new JAWS commands through a Braille input keyboard? The fact that your friend is already a JAWS user means there will be continuity when using the same commands on Pac Mate. The Omni 6.2 release also allows the user to open Office 2007 documents. Your friend is always welcome to contact me to discuss his requirements further. I don't know how to advise him and would welcome any comments please. I gather that he's not going to use advance features, but principally for taking and reading notes in fairly high-powered meetings. I always liked the idea of the BX because it runs a form of Windows and presumably the learning curve isn't so harsh for a JAWS user. Please let me have your thoughts.
