Eleanor

Have a go with the following method:

Open Outlook
Open the Account Settings Window
Press Control + Tab to go to the Data Files Tab
Press Alt + A for the Add Button
This will open a window to save a new .pst file.
The location it opens in will be the default location for .pst files and the likely place your current file is stored.

You should be able to tell where you are located, the method will vary by which version of windows you are using. (Windows 7 or vista you can find the location by pressing Alt + D, I cant remember for XP)
The window is the same layout as the save as window.

Once you have found the location press escape to cancel and then open my computer to naviagte to the location.

Hope this helps.

Hi Eleanor,

In answer to your question, here's a method I've tried after
reading the post from Richard Godfrey-McKay, (maybe a
slightly different method to that which Richard mentions in
his post.

1. press the windows key to land on the Start Menu.
2. Cursor down to the search submenu and open it.
3. Press Enter on the first option (for files or
folders)
4 Tab to a button which will say all files and
folders, and either press enter on it or use the keystroke
alt L to access it.
5. press the space bar to expand the more advanced
options outline button and you should see the checkbox which
Richard Godfrey-McKay referred to in his message.
Assuming that's ticked, you should be able to find your .pst
file.

I hope this helps.
