Thanks Jim but no that is not what I am talking about.  I am not talking about 
expanding and shrinking but a setting in Outlook Express which say if you write 
to me and I reply, your origional message will not appear.

  go into view menu , then into current and scroll down to "group messages by 
conversation" select it, done. However, this doesn't always work for some 
reason.
