[access-uk] Re: Opening .odt and odf files

Well Steve I have very little knowledge and would not have a clue about Java.
However, to the best of my knowledge Dolphin were producing software that would
enable a screen reader with speech to access it. Open Office is free and is
for both Windows and Lynox. We will have to wait and see if one of the Jaws
users can come on and say if it is accessable with Jaws. It is a very good
package and is a free download.

  Hi Eleanor,

Isn't Open Office an application based on Java? I had an idea it is not
accessible.

  All the best

  Steve

  Hi Peter

Download Open Office which is free at open office org and then once you have
installed, open your *.odt file and save it as *.doc file. Hope this helps.

    Hello

Have just been sent a .odt file. Can anybody suggest a simple and
accessible free program that will open this type of file please.
