[access-uk] Opening attachments

Hi all
Several people have mentioned having difficulty in opening some attachments,
well I've been puzzled for a while because a friend keepps sending me
attachments with a PPS.doc suffix and when I try to open them my computer comes
up with a message telling me I need to go into My computer and create some kind
of file in order to be able to view the attachment. What kind of file do I need
to create please?
