You can get a demo for both K1000 and iits competition Open Book. If you even consider such an investment, I would strongly suggest you get yourself a demo of both k1k and ob as well as of off the shelf ocr to see what works best for you.

I suggest you use Kurzweill as it's got a lot more features than omni page, plus it's a speaking software meaning that no screen reader needs to be running to fully use Kurzweill. Another advantage is that it comes

with a lot of reference tools, including dictionary/thesaurus, on-line
encyclopaedias, and other tools. I hope this helps making your decision.
