Hi again Andy.

Yes it does, but I'm not sure how to use this function as I've never needed it. If I was taking a phone number, I'd simply record a new file.

Mr. Neil Ewers, has done a podcast on the DS50 and I've included the link to it below. I believe he gives a pretty good description of the device in it's totality, so if you are thinking of buying one, his cast is very worth listening to.

Best wishes.

Andy.

Hi Andy.

The Olympus DS is a small digital recorder, about 3 inch, by 1 inch by 1/4 inch. It has a built in microphone which is extremely good. It can take an external microphone also. It has a USB, so you simply plug it into your computers and you can copy files to and from by using Windows Explorer. The device has directories A to IF, where you can keep music, interviews, lectures or even podcasts. When you arrow through these, the recorder speaks, making things very easy. 2 AA batteries last about 11 hours and once you press record, it will record for up to seven hours without running out of disk space. I've got one and I love it. I used it at university and for doing a podcast for BCT and I use it for taking short notes.

If you need to know more about this device, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Best wishes.

Andy.
