it is one of the best little recorders I have seen. Though I admit I haven't seen any others. I was impressed with it. All it's menus speak save the system information which probably contains the battery level. But the batteries last a considerable amount of time, and the clock information. I have not yet figured how to cause it to alarm, or play or record at set times. Other than those flaws, I think it is a very fine piece of equipment. It records in wma format, and also records pod casts and is able to play audible books, and MP3 files. These files can be transferred to a computer. The DS50 comes with a remote attachment which enables hands free recording. This attachment also works with the DS30 and DS40, but it must be purchased separately from these models. I have the DS30 so I am sending the site for that one. Though the other models can be found there as well. Information about the recorder along with PDF manuals can be found at

Hi All, Ok I give in, I have seen a lot of talk on this product Olympus, I haven't been following the thread at all, so would someone please tell me what are these? what uses they have for us? are these digital or the small tapes? Or better still if someone could give me there website to go and read up on them please.
