[access-uk] Olympus DS moving files

Hi,
I have an Olympus DS player. I can plug it into the computer and it acts like any other flash drive but can I move and delete files without using the supplied software without it bothering the player. I'm not sure if deleting files on the computer will mess up the player when I turn it on. The player is reviewed on the Internet but this is something I can't find either from the Internet or in the manual.
