[access-uk] Re: OT braille character

Hi Mark

In my Braille days, if we wanted to say underline a word or phrase, we would use dots 3 and 6 across the text to be underlined. Of course this is also the - when in the middle of a sentence or between two words. Therefore, writing it like this in an Email address would make it look like - and not underline. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Subject: [access-uk] OT braille character

Sorry for being a litle off topic with this one, but it is sort of pertinent
to the pc.

Can anyone tell me what the 6 dot braille symbol dots would be for the
underline symbol on the pc?

A friend has run it through a braille transcription program and it simpliy
ignored it! It is the shift - character on the keyboard making an _.

For instance, my_email_address@xxxxxxxxxx

Is it possible to write this in 6 dot braille, or is it an 8 dot computer
braille character? I just want to be able to note down email addresses
using the Perkins for my own amusement.

Many thanks,

Mark Threadgold
