Subject: [access-uk] OT: RNIB Membership

Hi everyone,

Sorry to post this to the list, but I'm looking for people who may
have had a problem with their RNIB membership.

RNIB recently held elections to its Assembly. Voting in those
elections was open to all members of RNIB, so anyone who was a paid up
member should have received information about the election and
associated voting papers. Because of what has been described as an
"administrative error", I did not receive any information about these
elections, even though two people had nominated and seconded me. As a
result, I was not able to vote and only discovered that the elections
had actually taken place after voting had closed.

I wonder is there anyone else out there who may have had similar
problems? I have been told by staff at RNIB that I am the only member
who was excluded from the vote, but I haven't seen any evidence to
support this. I would therefore like to hear from anyone who is a
member of RNIB and who was not given the opportunity to vote in the
recent Assembly elections.

Please contact me privately at brendan@xxxxxxxxxxxx so as not to
clutter the list with this subject, which has nothing whatsoever to do
with access technology.

       Many thanks,

          Brendan.
