I certainly think you are being over sensitive here, the phraise has been used for as long as I can remember to make sure in a noisy atmosphere that the number is not mistaken. Some people could say they were offended by the phraise 2 fat ladies, but it's not meant like that.

Maybe it's because I live in Blackpool, I don't know. I've heard this
particular call for many years and must admit I haven't thought twice about
it so perhaps you're being a little over-sensitive about it?
