Hi Andy,
Just to add to what Simon has already said, the settings button won't be
visible if you've still got the graphics turned on. When you've control
tabbed to the other side of the screen, press alt S and this will activate
the settings button. From there you can uncheck the use graphical interface
and splash screen check boxes.
