  Andy,

Ensure that the "show hidden files" in the "more advanced options is checked,
along with system files etc.

  Hope this is of help.

Mike--or anybody that can help--I just went to my XP netbook, and did a
search for .dbx under files and folders, and it came back with no results. I
did this because my friend is using XP, not Vista, and I wanted to follow
Mike's suggestion of deleting the sent messages folder, in order to create a
new one. I need help then to do this .dbx search, in order to know why the
search didn't find any folders with this extention -

      Andy,

If corrupted, do a computer search for .dbx folders. This should show all
of the .dbx folders, such as the in box, out box and sent folder.

Note: the folders, in box, out box, and sent items folder should be
emptied before deleting them.

Then all you do is delete the folders, personally I deleted all 3 the
time my OE went funny. When you restart OE, it recreates them, and usually
sorts it out.

There was a previous post about checking if hidden, good advice to check
this out first.

When my OE was corrupt, it also sent multiple messages to people, as the
message never left the out box.

Hopefully some of the suggestions gets your friend sorted.

      Kind regards,

      Mike

Hi Mike - As far as I know, his messages are getting sent, just not
getting a copy saved in the sent folder. If it is corrupted, is there a way to
fix it? -

          Andy,

OE can corrupt with regard to the sent folder. Is there any messages
in it, or maybe just 10 for example, as this what happens when corrupted.

The messages do not leave the out box, as it thinks the sent folder
is full, causing a back log, so to speak.

Try sending a message to yourself, and see if it remains in the out
box, or goes to the deleted folder.

          Regards,

          Mike

Hi Ibrahim - Thanks, but as I said in my message, that box is
already ticked, that's why we're confused.

            Regards -

              Hi Andy.

In Outlook Express, go to tools, options and then in the sent tab
select "save copy of sent message in sent messages folder".

              All the best, Ibrahim.

A friend is using OE and XP. Each time he sends an email, he
doesn't get a copy saved in his sent messages folder, even though the box is
ticked under options to do this. Anybody know why this might be?

                Thanks -

                Andy
