First, I don't know if this is correct but would think it probably is and
that you'll need to get a 2004, or a later version at least.

From my experience, Norton is a bit of a difficult one and you may be
advised to remove the software first. (Be sure you look to see in which
order you should remove the components of the software and the updates etc.)
I didn't ever use 2001 so can't help you more on that.

Just do your usual thing of closing down any programs you're using that you
don't need to have loaded.

I think this changed from 2002 onwards and would suggest it may be a little
bit difficult for you at first until you understand the concept. Basically,
it works similarly to HTML docs. At any rate, until you've had a good look
round, the Default settings are quite acceptable to use and you may not need
to alter these at all.
If you do find it difficult, I'll gladly talk you through it on the phone as
I also use 2004.

If you've already removed everything then it can't and shouldn't need to as
it has its own Defaults.

Hope this helps a bit and I'm sorry I can't give any more help on exactly
what to remove and how.

Maybe someone else can.
