Even easier to type in the number of the menu item you want. For example,
on my N95, the music player is the fourth item down, so I hit menu, 4, and I
am there.

Grid mode is my choice now as you can move left and right if you want to go
through your menu choices one by one, up and down moves you in threes. If
you have a lot in your menu and you know you want to be near the end, for
example to get to a newly installed app, then going down in threes is a lot
quicker.

Just as a suggestion, I'm wondering if all the items are there, but that you
have accidentally changed the view to grid instead of list. Now, if you
have done this, it is easy to put back. Just go into the menu, and bring up
the Options menu by pressing soft key one. Arrow down to Change View Has
Sub-menu, and cursor right. When you hear List, enter on it, and you should
now be back with everything showing in your menu. Let me know if this works
for you.
