Got there, thank you both, easy when you know how, will stop experimenting
with the thing for a while, not long I'm sure as I am curious by nature and
being able to use my mobile a bit more than just for making calls feels me
with great delight.
The next project is to learn to text efficiently.
Thanks again,
The battery is pressed up against the end of the phone which isn't the
screen end. If you can't pull it out bang the phone down against your hand
or something and it'll fall out.

managed to take the cover off but not sure where the battery is, what shape
is it, how do you pull it out, easy when you know how I suppose but not when
you don't know what you are looking for and are worried you might touch
something you are not supposed to or break something.
Thanks for your help, very much appreciated but afraid I need a little more.
cheers now,
Marie

Hi Marie,
Yes, it's quite easy to take out and replace the battery. If you take off
the back cover by pressing the little catch at the bottom of the phone and
sliding the cover upwards, it should come off quite easily. Then you'll
find the battery. It's pretty obvious where it is. Then just ease it
out, wait about a minute and then just slot it back into place and replace
the cover. I don't have any sight at all and I managed it quite easily so
you shouldn't have any problems.
