Subject: [access-uk] Noise Cancelling headphones

Hi folks. On an entirely different tack, I bought some Senheiser noise
cancelling hedphones over the weekend from Richer Sounds. Sort of impulse
buy really, and they seem to be selling like proverbial hot cakes at the
moment. They cost me eighty quid, which seemd a bit exstravegant at the
time.

I can report they are very effective. intructions, (very visual) in the
text part made much of the stress caused by environmental noise. I hadn't
really noticed if I am honest, but on turning the box on, the immediate
reduction of noise on the train or bus was certainly noticable. Even if you
are not actually listening to anything, these headphones can actually be
used to tame the cocoffony when traveling.

On the audio side, the quality is good, and there is a slight boost in sound
level too. That's useful, given the limited output of some portable
MD/cassette players.

In all, a very worthwhile buy.

Ray.
