Hi all.

Further to my messages regarding the problems I was having from PC Next Day
regarding my new Media Center Computer. PC Next day became very helpful
shortly after I advised them that I was intending to return the computer. I
received all of my order today and have spent the afternoon setting it up.

For the time-being, everything looks fine though this computer is a bit
cheep looking/feeling and not as nice and touchy as my old Packard Bell.
Benefit of the doubt and all that eh?

Anyway, I have a question.

As I was also considering moving from JAWS to WindowEyes with this upgrade
and possibly, move up to VISTA later this year, I decided to purchase a
Windows Media Center rather than an XP Home Edition as an OS.

However, my wife now advises that what I've got is an XP Media Center, which
sounds a bit like a hybrid/mongrel whatever.

The advert advised that my new computer was a Media Center computer, though
was shipped with XP Home to assist in the set up. I also got a pack of
disks, titled Media Center Quick Start, so I thought that I'd need to
install these, once I had connected my computer up.

The pack had three disks and my wife inserted into my drive one of these and
nothing happened. She then tried another then the final disk and again
nothing happened.

She thinks that the disks have already been installed.

I have made several modifications to the settings, which are normally
associated with JAWS and I must say, my computer looks very much like an XP
Home computer. How would I find out if I'm running Windows Media Center or
XP Home?

I know this must sound daft, but I expected Windows Media Center OS to look
significantly different than XP Home?

Best wishes.

Andy
