The sound quality through my earphones is very good indeed. I haven't particularly tried the speakers to any great extent, although on the odd occasion when I have, I don't recall any crackling or hissing. I've had mine a couple of months now. I removed the MS Works that came with it and installed MS Office instead. I've also got MS Project running, as well as Jaws. It holds out well under the strain and, as I mentioned, I get really good battery life out of it as a rule. One reviewer said the speakers hissed and crackled until you downloaded an update from the asus website. Perhaps they just got a faulty model as i do not see why you should need to update a brand new product. What did you find the audio quality to be? I do not mind small keys as that is the whole point of a netbook. The keyboard is extremely small, but the battery life is usually around 5 or 6 hours. Sounds impressive. It is as good as the Samsung, but its drawback is the battery. It is only a three cell battery.
