The sound quality through my earphones is very good indeed. I
haven't particularly tried the speakers to any great extent, although on the
odd occasion when I have, I don't recall any crackling or hissing.

I've had mine a couple of months now. I removed the MS Works that
came with it and installed MS Office instead. I've also got MS Project
running, as well as Jaws. It holds out well under the strain and, as I
mentioned, I get really good battery life out of it as a rule.

Léonie.

Hi leone

I have been looking at the asus 901 because of the great reviews of the
battery life. One reviewer said the speakers hissed and crackled until you
downloaded an update from the asus website. Perhaps they just got a faulty
model as i do not see why you should need to update a brand new product.
What did you find the audio quality to be? I do not mind small keys as that
is the whole point of a netbook.

Regards

Barbara

I've got an Asus 901. The keyboard is extremely small, but the
battery life is usually around 5 or 6 hours.

Hi Barbara

I've seen the Asus, but I didn't like it as, personally, the keyboard is
just too small for me.

Hi Steve

Can't remember now, but I think there is an Asus which has an energy saving
battery and the customer reviews say it really does last its claimed 7 or 8
hours. Sounds impressive.

        Hi Barbara,

I have the MSI Wind. It is as good as the Samsung, but its drawback
is the battery. It is only a three cell battery.

        All the best

        Steve

Further to the Samsung NC10 thread, has anyone tried any other
netbooks? Such as Acer or Asus?
