Hi Colin,

Insert + Q

You then get a message - do you wish to quit NVDA yes or no?

Colin,

Agreed to use the installer version unless you have a particular need for
the portable version (e.g., you want to take it on a memory stick to a
library).

Download from

http://www.nvda-project.org/wiki/Download

and look for the heading

Stable Release: 2012.1 (recommended for most users)

Underneath that heading, you will find links to the installer and portable
versions.

There are also daily snapshot versions, but really they are of interest to
people who like to experiment and find bugs.

The installer should just run or save, no archiving program required. The
installer speaks using the built-in eSpeak, so you should be fine once you
run the installer.

Vince.

No. Download the normal install and open and close it as you require.

Hi All,
As understand NVDA is great on internet and I have a fiancial site that is
not working with Supanova but does with NVDA according to legal and
general
looked to download tonight for this use specifically.
I tried to download what was termed portable version as thought this would
be simpler just to leave on desktop and turn on as necessary.
Did not successfully download by either saving or running 7 zip just said
could not successsfully extract Any thoughts or is there an alternative
place I can get this?
Is the portable version the right one to use?
Thanks as ever Colin
