Hi George,

Not to mention the security implications if you scan a credit card
statement, then send it to a server in the cloud, unencrypted.

All the best

Steve

And what is the likely cost of the call you have to make to send the graphic
to Google?

an interesting product mix.

I take it you guys have all been looking at the Google Goggles project with
interest? So, if you're abroad, you take a photo of, say, a restaurant menu
with your phone, you send it to google, and is automatically translated into
English text.

It's basic OCR technology which is then fed through Google translater.

Has the significance for visually impaired people been noted by the
Googleplex? Skip the translater bit, I'd be happy just to receive the text.
And it's free gratis, no charge, free free free.

Hi Barry.

As an aside, I rang up the company who put in the advert as there was no
pricing on their website for the product, they want £695 for this software
plus they tried to sell me half a day's training for an additional £395 not
to mention polarizing lenses and a strap for the phone to secure it. An
absolute rip-off considering.

All the best, Ibrahim.

This member has been removed for breech of Guidelines.

This is a full blown advert.

No prior permission was sought or given to post this to the list.

It probably would have been allowed if it was more concise. More
importantly the Professional part of the companys name wasn?t put into
practice in-terms of asking for permission instead of spamming the list.
