Thank you Andy. Problem now resolved. I actually think it had something to do
with this wretched hybernation thing.

Eleanor - Try removing the battery for about 20 seconds, and try to boot up
again -

    Hi
I put a 2 GB memory in my NC10 and it has been working fine for the past
week. I went to turn it on now and was not in the room but heard a clonk, you
know the type of thing if Windows finds an error. I went to see what had
happened and machine is cold, turned off and I cannot power it on either using
the battery or power. Any ideas please, apart from me having to take it back
to the store!!!

    Eleanor
