What! So if we didn't back up our machines Windows will expire as if it was not activated?

The backup basically formats the D: partition on the machine. It is necesary, and Samsung were clever as it is a part of the Windows registration, so if you don't do it, then after 30 days Windows would expire. On Monday, December 22, 2008 at 07:42 AM (GMT), Jackie Cairns wrote: Hi Eleanor See previous post, but the message normally starts appearing after so many boots of the machine, and keeps reminding you each time you turn it on. There is also an icon in the system tray. I doubt your man in the shop would have bothered to do it then, but you never know, he might have been extra nice! (smile). If not, can you tell me ow to backup? I appreciate sighted assistance may be necessary but I am wondering if the man in the shop when he got it all up and running for me would have done the backup then. How would I know if a b backup has been done. I do notice that my software is on a different drive tor maybe it is My Documents that are on a different drive, certainly I have a partition. I do not have the Netbook with me right now to look up and tell you exactly but I am pretty sure I have a drive C and a Drive D. Some people remove all this stuff atthebeginning, but I let it do a backup of everything because I hope itwillbe a kind of restore for all the Netbook's drivers if I ever need todoone in the event of something catastrophic happening. You may need sighted assistance though because, if you arrow down to check the backup to start, it means your Netbook will start in Safe mode, and wants you to accept the licence before proceeding. This means, of course, you have no speech. I took mine into the office and got someone to keep an eye on it for me. Once the machine did the backup and restarted, the message disappeared, and the backup I hadmadenow resides on the partitioned D drive. As I say, you can take it all off, but I didn't because I'm a cautious creature in that way and didn't want to risk losing any drivers. The more bold among us will say otherwise (smile).Jackie Cairns Braille Support Adviser Email: jackie.cairns@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sight and Sound Technology Welton House North Wing Summerhouse Road Moulton Park Northampton NN3 6WD Tel: 01604 798024 Fax: 01604 798090 Web: www.sightandsound.co.uk-----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] OnBehalfOf Debbie Palmer Sent: 21 December 2008 12:05 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Win time schedulerWhat is win time scheduler please, it keeps popping up on my NC10 and how can I get rid of it pleaseThanksDebbieyou can contact me on: email: wadham.house@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx skype debs1965 msn: wadham.house@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx aim screen name wadham house Vonage phone No: 01392 346351 Mobile: 07930 332608__________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 3709 (20081220) __________The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus.http://www.eset.com** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq______________________________________________________________________ This email has been scanned by the MessageLabs Email Security System.
