Hi Eleanor,

No, I would not unbrand it. Unbranding is possible, but it invalidates any
warranty you have with the phone from Nokia or Vodafone.

All the best

Hi Steve

I am reading your response to Carole. As you know I have an N95 8GB from
Vodafone which is unlocked but not unbranded. How would I get it unbranded?
You had said you could upgrade the firmware but can you unbrand it?

Eleanor

Hi Carol,

No, they won't be able to be upgraded beyond your original provider's
firmware version. So if you are on Voda, for example, you will only have
whatever firmware they allow you to have. The only way to get it upgraded
would be to get it unbranded as well as unlocked.

Can anyone clarify whether N95 phones that have been unlocked can be
upgraded?

I just think somewhere I heard someone say that it shouldn't be attempted on
these phones. (BTW, I have the N95 with an 8GB card, not, unfortunately,
the memory version.)
