Jackie a person with the N73 will be able to give you exact help but when you turn off 3g you go back to GSM which is the standard encorporating GPRS etc. 3G is useful for downloading vidios or other solutions requiring fast data connections but for most web browsing and other online tasks generaaly done on mobiles you do not need it and the battery often does better without 3G.

Regarding being able to turn off 3G, perhaps someone with some technical savvy would be good enough to explain this as I am somewhat confuzzled (smile). I thought 3G was something your network provider offered, for example, I can get it with Vodafone. I didn't think you could, or would want, to turn it off. If you can, where do you turn it off, and why would you? Many thanks for an accomplished explanation. Hope that helps. At 10:57 22/01/2008, you wrote:Hi Mandy I don't think you could, or would want, to turn 3G off. It is something that your phone picks up in your area to receive your network as far as I know, though someone will correct me if I'm talking rubbish. I'm not sure what else you can turn off to prolong your battery life. How much are you getting out of it, obviously depending on how much you use it? If you go into your Tools menu, and arrow to Connectivity, it will be in there, and should say Bluetooth on, which you select to turn off. You can always check the status of your Bluetooth by pressing TALKS key followed by soft key two on your mobile. As well as giving you network coverage and battery status, it will tell you if Bluetooth isturned on.I hope this helps.
