Regarding being able to turn off 3G, perhaps someone with some technical savvy would be good enough to explain this as I am somewhat confuzzled (smile). I thought 3G was something your network provider offered, for example, I can get it with Vodafone. I didn't think you could, or would want, to turn it off. If you can, where do you turn it off, and why would you?

Many thanks for an accomplished explanation.

Jackie

Thanks Chris but is there somewhere I can turn it off? Can't find it after
talking to my friend?

Jackie and all, 3G is not necessary to use your phone on a network. 3G in
fact allows you to have faster internet access, as well as the ability to
make and receive video calls. Hope that helps.

something that your phone picks up in your area to receive your network
as far as I know, though someone will correct me if I'm talking
rubbish.

I'm not sure what else you can turn off to prolong your battery life.
How much are you getting out of it, obviously depending on how much you
use it?

Yes Jackie I use blue tooth with a head set so I always have that one
turned off unless it's in use because it does chew the battery but is
there anything to turn of the 3 G I believe that chews the battery as
well, there must be other things, it seems quite a short life. Mandy

Mandy, the first thing to turn off, if it is on, is Bluetooth. If you
go into your Tools menu, and arrow to Connectivity, it will be in
there, and should say Bluetooth on, which you select to turn off. You
can always check the status of your Bluetooth by pressing TALKS key
followed by soft key two on your mobile. As well as giving you
network coverage and battery status, it will tell you if Bluetooth is
turned on.

I hope this helps.

Hi there,

I've had my N73 for about 2 weeks now and I find the battery doesn't
last nearly as long as the N70, can anyone give me any tips on how to
turn off anything that will save the battery that I maybe haven't
thought of, I've turned the power saver down as much as I can the
light censor is only on one, is there somewhere I can turn off
anything else that will help, maybe some graphics or 3g or something else
that will help.
