Mandy, do the following to change network mode from dual mode to GSM:
1. Press the menu key.
2. Using the up and down arrow keys, find Tools, and press select to open the Tools menu.
3. Do the same as above, except you're looking for settings.
4. Do the same as step 2, except you're looking for network.
5. When talks says, "network, tab sheet 8 of 9", or similar, press select on the first item, "network mode dual mode". When you do this, Talks should say, "network mode, checked item dual mode 1 of 3". 6. Down arrow twice till it says "network mode, gsm 3 of 3". Press select on that. 7. When Talks says, "gsm selected, phone will restart. continue?", press key 1, yes.
8. You'll now be back in the standby screen.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Chris but is there somewhere I can turn it off? Can't find it after

Jackie and all, 3G is not necessary to use your phone on a network. 3G in
fact allows you to have faster internet access, as well as the ability to
make and receive video calls. Hope that helps.
