Steve, I was in a critical situation, and I didn't have a spare phone to
transfer my contacts to, so had no choice but to copy them to the sim card.
When I get my old phone back from repair, however, I will use that very tool
to copy my contacts over back to my old phone since I will be using that as
an emergency phone for when my N73 breaks down or something. Hope that
helps.

Hi Chris,

Why didn't you use the Data Transfer tool? It is much more effective.
The
proble with keeping contacts on the Sim card is if you have more than one
phone number per contact, they get split up into several contacts, and the
whole thing is a mess. I don't recommend using the Sim for contacts at
all.

All the best

Steve

Hi Alex, I recommend you copy the contacts onto your sim card. This way,
the
sim can be used on your new phone, provided it's either on the same
network
or is sim free, thus the contacts can be copied to your new phone. I had
to
do this today, and haven't lost any as a result (I would have lost them
all
had I had not copied them to the sim card). Hope that helps.

Hi Chris

I would like to ask a supplementary question on folders and the memory
card.
I want to ensure that my contacts are storred in the memory card one day.
If I ever changed the phone for something else more up-to-date than
the N70, how would you advise me to do this. Copy to memory card, or
store the contacts somewhere else.

Hi, try:
1. Menu
2. Tools
3. File Manager
4. Arrow right once.
5. You should now see the files and folders on the card. Please note
not all files and/or folders will be shown. This is by design.
Hope that helps.

Subject: [access-uk] N70 and memory cards

Hi Folks,
Can anyone tell me how to access the files on the memory card using a
N70
please?
Wendy my wife has inserted the my card in to her N70 and we have gone
through all the possible menus and folders but cannot seem to access the
files on the card.

We have looked in tools where we found the memory card, but when
selecting
the memory card we are just shown the name and size of card and amount
of
memory used. But unfortunately, no files.
The files are definitely on the card as I copied them from the computer
using a card reader and checked beforehand that they were successfully
on
the card.

Thanks in advance for all help offered.
