Hi Damon, In my experience, it does not take any more battery power. You can turn it off though if you want, I think it is in Tools, Settings, Network. All the best Steve -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Damon Sent: 02 August 2007 05:58 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: My phone talks rubbish - help! how do you turn this 3g on and off? And indeed, is that how it works? Maybe you shouldn't want to turn off your data connection? When I hit Talks button and soft key 2, it tells me that 3G is connected. Is that good or bad? Does it take up more battery power? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andy Collins" <andy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, August 01, 2007 10:44 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: My phone talks rubbish - help! > Steve - this is most interesting; when you say calculate route much > faster, > does that mean it will also reroute more quickly when wondering off track? > by that I mean will it have done it before I have walked as far as I might > otherwise have done when not using 3G? - > > Andy > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Steve Nutt" <steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Wednesday, August 01, 2007 9:06 PM > Subject: [access-uk] Re: My phone talks rubbish - help! > > > | Hi Andy, > | > | Yes, 3G will make Wayfinder calculate routes even faster. > | > | All the best > | > | Steve > | > | -----Original Message----- > | From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf > Of > | Andy Collins > | Sent: 01 August 2007 10:26 > | To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > | Subject: [access-uk] Re: My phone talks rubbish - help! > | > | Steve - is it best then to have 3g turned on say when using Wayfinder > | Access, rather than using packet data? - > | > | Andy > | ----- Original Message ----- > | From: "Steve Nutt" <steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > | To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > | Sent: Wednesday, August 01, 2007 9:08 AM > | Subject: [access-uk] Re: My phone talks rubbish - help! > | > | > || Hi Damon, > || > || You are just losing and gaining the packet data signal.
