Hi Carol, Here we go with the other questions then:- :: How long does it take to download? (I'm on PAYG currently, hence the :: question.) Seconds as I said. :: :: For those uninitiated, what's "the data access point from your :: carrier" that :: :: you have to configure; so what do you need to know? Nothing. It searches for all access points and presents them to you. Just pick the one you normally use for the web. :: :: Someone said it would work with Pacmate and BrailleNote. Has anyone :: tried it with the latter? The reason I'm asking is that the BN :: currently works under Wireless "B", or a mixed mode setting, so I'm :: wondering if this really :: :: will work. Of course it will work. It is just an open or WEP wifi hotspot. I have used it with BN on the train. Not to be recommended though unless you know you are not going through a tunnel <Smile>. :: :: There are some comments in the FAQ section about various LED's :: indicating connections. Is it still possible for us to see easily :: if a client is still :: :: connected and to ensure we disconnect properly? Yes. Talks Key2 will say Wireless Active, and when you shut down or stop Hot Spot it auto disconnects. :: :: Finally, I think I read somewhere that it's an open connection and :: doesn't even have WEP. Is this not open to abuse by others, or is :: the wireless range too short so that it's not really a problem? It is not a problem, because firstly, it is WEP as well as open. Also, you can set Hot Spot to automatically ask you if you want to allow a client to connect as soon as it sees it. If you say no, then it won't. You can even block clients. I don't know where you read it was open only, but this is definitely wrong.
