[access-uk] Re: Media Edition Again

Hi Steve.

I'm a bit like yourself at the moment. I'm needing to upgrade my computer and my hi-fi and I was keen on having a go at the Media Centre version, possibly on a dell, because of the low noise. I have listened to a number of demonstrations from America where they are able to connect their satellite televisions. Unfortunately, we are unable here yet to do the same, other than go down the Nebula route. unfortunately , the Nebula system only works with Freeview and as we don't have Freeview in our area yet, I'm scupper. I have all of my music collection on my computer and have tried both a line-out and Veronica method of connection, but unfortunately, both have a price in terms of loss of quality, so I'm scupper again. To complicate the issue, I also wish to upgrade to HDTV and plug the lot together. I've got some cash coming soon, so I'm able to do it but the technology is simply not here yet. How frustrating eh? Can you tell me how you plan to link your computer to your hi-fi, and how you plan to get the maximum quality of sound?

Best wishes.

Andy.

Subject: [access-uk] Media Edition Again

Hi All,

I know there has been some discussion on this in the past but I'm now about
to buy a new desktop. I want to integrate it with my home audio system and
connect it to a new HD TV.

OK, my questions, I'm using jaws 5 at the moment but am about to go to jaws
7 pro, would I gain any benefit from going for media edition? If I do, is
there a particular version to either stipulate, or avoid? What features in
media centre would I not be able to utilise?

Lastly, anyone got any suggestions on a reasonably priced PC?

Steve
