I couldn't actually read the message you sent, it was blank. Tristan's was the 
same.

Yes you are correct, that is the kind of cable I have been looking for. Seagate 
told me you can get them anywhere but that is not the case, maplins don't sell 
them. I tried cpc, I have never used ebay, it looks tricky.

Hi George, if Adrien's is the same as mine, which I would assume it is then the 
data cable is standard to mini USB. Neither the data cable nor the power supply 
are hard wired.
