The last intake of rehab officers at the Guide Dog training college was just
that - the last lot. The present rehab officers are going to be downgraded
or given other duties. The idea is to get the rehab course to be a
university course, perhaps tagged on to social work, then for the Guide Dogs
to pass on their training material to the university's. So far, four
university's have signed up for the course.

If what you say is correct, it is an absolute disgrace.

Hi Andy
You should get long cane training from Guide Dogs, but I don't know for
how
much longer they will be offering the service as they are cutting back on
rehab officers.
