Hi Ray,
I believe you can get the N82 from Vodaphone from 30 pounds per month on an 18
month contract. Some people might think this is not fair. However you do get it
with talks installed so its not so bad really, given that its just a new phone.
You can buy an N82 on ebay for bids around 250 pounds, but then you have to pay
10 pounds bi-weekly or so for pay as you go. That works out at about 360 pounds
to add to your 250 purchase. And we haven't even started talking about the
price of talks installed. I think Steve sells it for about 150 pounds? 250 plus
360 plus 150? That's about 760 pounds compared to just over 500 for a contract
deal. N82 or N95 or even an older model... It all sounds good to me even if it
is a contract.
Even if you buy a second hand phone on one of the resale lists, you still
have to fork out a wopping bill for pay as you talk, so its not even cheap
going second hand.

I had a brief look at an N82 a few days ago and it's impressive for it's
screen picture quality and I couldn't help noticing the litle keys were
actually separated which may make it easier going touch-wise.
Still, at 30 quid a month, which was what this friend was paying on Orange,
I couldn't consider it on contract, not that my provider would do it anyway.
Think they're about 300 to buy so, for the rare person who's anything like
me and holds on to a phone for five years or more, then maybe that outlay
isn't too bad.
Many no doubt are buying the N82 one way or another for the KNFB reader, but
we're hearing now there seems to be a good competitor to this.
I'll just crawl under a stone now, and listen to what others think.
cheers,
Ray.
