[access-uk] Re: Lap Top and External VDU

Most laptops will not let you operate them with the lid closed in this
manner as they will overheat. When the fan pulls air through the laptop it
is often pulled down through the keyboard. Having the lid down not only
prevents air flowing through in this way but also effectively insulates the
machine causing a double whammy in the overheating stakes. I woudl not
advise trying to do it, and i would doubt you could set the machine to stop
it going into standby or turning off if you shut the lid.

Subject: [access-uk] Lap Top and External VDU

Hi
If I want to use my lapt top and an external large screen, external keyboard
and external mouse, do I have to keep the laptop open? I know about fixing
the screen on the laptop so that I am just looking at the screen on the
external monitor.
