NMope, I am saying Hal should support the buttons and menus. The only way
you can read the book is through Kindle's own voice. This is by design.

Hi,
You can't change any keys or voices with Kindle PC. It is what it is.
But you can change the shortcut to launch Hal.

hi ed, just installed kindle for pc. as you seem to be prety knowledgable

this, can you tell me is there a comprehensive list of shortcuts for it.

example:
is there a files or tools menu to let me change some of the personal
preferences such as volume or print some of the text from a page.
is there anywhere i can change the default hotkeys as some of them clash
with other shortcuts i have on my computer. for example i have left
shift/left ctrl with n set up for launching notepad, and left shift and

ctrl plus h launches hal which is my screen reader.
the other thing i would like to change if possible is the reading voice. i
purchased a few microsoft tts voices a while back, do you know is it
possible to change the existing voice to one of these?
i know the volume thingy should not be a problem as what ever i have done
has increased it up, but i cant seem to turn it down again.
any help appreciated.

There certainly used to be more titles available on the Kindle than
through iBooks, I don't know if this is still the case though.
The one advantage with the software version over the hardware Kindle is
that you don't have to check whether text to speech is enabled on the
book. The software version with accessibility plugin is classed as
access
technology so all books will read regardless of the text to speech status
given on the website.
