Yes you were. For quite some time people have been purchasing Kindle books from the .co.uk site and using the PC software that has been made available to us. I presume now there's a UK version of the software it works in exactly the same way.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I was told by a member of Amazon's "access" team that although you can download the accessible Kindle reader, you can't buy Kindle books and utilise the software unless you are using Amazon.com and have a US account. Was I sold a dummy?

Thanks,

BJ

The menus on the hardware Kindle can be read with a built-in voice,
although setting it up is tricky without sight. John Gallagher's done an
introduction to using it on blind cool tech.

A new version of Kindle for PC with accessibility was recently released;
you can download it from www.amazon.com/kindle/accessibility. I've
written a short intro to itt which you can download from the "Kindle for
PC with accessibility" link on

book_readers_compared.aspx.

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if there are any accessible Kindle apps for the PC?
or whether there are any accessible Kindle readers? I am under the
impression that the dcomercially available reader from Amazon can
readKindle content, but the menus are impossible to use...

Please help!

Thanks,

BJ Edeards
