Hi Mandy,

That sounds like the English United States layout, whereas you are used to
the English UK one.  Alt and the left shift key toggles between the
available keyboard layouts.  To add or remove input languages, go to the
control panel and it is under  regional and language options. I can tell you
exactly where it is for xp, but I don't know what you're using...
