yeah, I know that. <smile> I also knew that Carol when I last checked was a fish user. <g>

Actually, though, If I remember correctly, during the very short spell of my trying out jaws 7.1, I do seem to remember that the keynote driver was offered as one of the synthesizer drivers.

I also think that WE installs all drivers by default so that a new synth can be used without modifyimng the install first, right? Friends of mine are WE users and just occasionally point out such convenient differences to me. <g>

Thanks for pointing this one out. I actually have no idea about Hal support for the keynote under NT. Maybe a hal user on here can tell us as that would be intersting.

Cheers,

Doris

Hi Doris,

Slight correction. You don't need any Humanware drivers if you have
Window-Eyes, as Window-Eyes addresses the synthesiser directly. It is only
JFW, and possibly Hal, where you need the extra drivers. This is one thing
I love about Window-Eyes, GW Micro always support the synthesisers directly,
so no additional drivers are needed.

All the best

A Keynote SA should work under windows. If you want to have it work under
win NT (nt/2k/xp) you need to donwload the appropriate 32bit driver from the
humanware/Pulsedata website. it can be found somewhere in the Braillenote
support download section, the page where all the firmware upgrade for the
BN's can be downloaded from.

I have had my Keynote SA since 1998 and am not aware of there having been
any firmware upgrades for it during that time. IN fact, I never heard that
the Keynote's chip was flashable.
